Angela de Lange – Principal Kingsway Christian School.

It is with sadness but much gratitude that we have to announce that Angela, our principal for the last 10 years has resigned and left Kingsway on the 31st of May 2012. Angela felt her season with Kingsway has come to an end and that it is time for another principal to carry the baton. We wish her everything of the best for the future and God’s richest blessings to accompany her and her husband Richard. Thank you Angela, you have been an outstanding principal , we will miss you.

We welcome Mrs Kgetheng Dlamini who has taken over from Angela from the 1st of June and commenced a handover period on the 1st of May 2012. Kgetheng is married to Caleb, is a mother of four girls, has spent many years in research around children/education issues and has her Masters in Education from the University of Johannesburg. Most recently, she has been teaching at Masakhane-Tswelelopele Primary in Zandspruit. She is passionate about education and is very excited about leading Kingsway into a new season, with God’s help and in His strength.

We believe in gratitude at Kingsway. Our Appreciation Breakfast took place on the 8th of March 2012. We said thank you to our donors who support us financially, with donations in kind, pro bono work and in many practical ways. You are all heroes and making an enormous difference to several childrens’ lives. WE APPRECIATE YOU.

Stallion Security Annual Charity Golf day

The 6th annual Stallion Security golf day took place on the 3rd of May 2012 at the CMR golf club Maraisburg. It was a wonderful success at which we raised just over R123 000. Thank you to Sim de Wet from Stallion Security who donated more than R100 000 and the golf committee from the Honeyridge Baptist church for your support and organising an enjoyable and successful day. Thank you to the individuals and companies who have sponsored a four ball, many of whom do so annually. We truly appreciate your continued support.

Strategy Meeting

Kingsway had a strategy meeting in April to discuss the future of Kingsway School, Thandanani House of Refuge and the development plans we have had for some time to take place in Zandspruit. Maureen Schneemann, ward councillor for Zandspruit addressed the various stakeholders informing us about general developments in Zandspruit and the people’s most pressing needs. It gave us much food for thought and to re-assess the way ahead for future building plans. Alan Harvey from Think and Perform graciously gave of his time to facilitate the meeting and get everybody on the “same page”.

Kingsway School News

Paper is like gold for us at the school and we were so grateful when Renegade Exp donated five boxes recently, just as we are grateful for the 2 boxes which Ubuntu Outsourcing and Recruitment provide every month!

Our choir is working very hard as they prepare for a mass choir event to be held in July. On the 4th of May, they sang at the Association of Christian School Leadership Conference and delighted the delegates with half an hour of beautiful God-honouring song.

A Johnson Controls team came to help “Gogo” prepare the cheese sandwiches for the children one Friday, and also handed over a cheque fpr R7 639,20 to help pay for the school feeding for this year.

We are so grateful for the support of the local and business communities!
